Trionic 7 turbo faster response modification
Monday, 24 May 2010 15:56

If you have ever refitted your 4mm vacuum hoses for silicone hoses (a must do in my opinion), you will have noticed a little black box with three hoses connected to it. Have you ever wondered what that box does? I sure have.

The box works as a control for the turbo bypass valve, when the box is disconnected the turbo bypass valve is "hooting" a little under light throttle. This is kept under control by this valve, reducing the noise under the hood. When you bypass this valve you will get a more responsive throttle feel.

Innovate OT-2 OBD / Logworks viewing & logging on your iPhone
Wednesday, 27 January 2010 18:37

innovate OT-2

I was eagerly anticipating this device, the Innovate OT-2. And after a little delay on approving the iPhone application by Apple it's finally here! But what's the fuzz about?!

In the pre OT-2 ages we all bought a ELMscan or something resembling this to read the error codes on our beloved Saab's. With the laptop in the car you could also monitor some of the OBD-2 functions. however when you want to export the logged data to something readable you would have to buy something expensive like PCMscan or ScanXL. When you add some fancy measuring to your car (Exhaust gas temp. and Wide band lambda) you will need to find a way to feed those in your laptop.

These troubles are finally over with the OT-2. Not only can you save and export to logworks, but you can daisy chain other innovate products to this OBD-II logger.  I think my wishes are heard with this tool!

Now to just find the cash to order the complete set of innovate goodies (EGT, LAMBDA, OT-2) to get all the data we need out of our beloved Saab!

Innovate wins "MotoIQ: The Ultimate Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Meter Test"
Wednesday, 06 January 2010 22:15

The Moto IC tested wideband lambda sensors

Moto IQ did a two piece article about affordable wideband Air/Fuel ratio meters. (For those not knowing what a wideband air/fuel meter does for you, i urge you to read the first part of the article).

The outcome is rather shocking, allmost all of the thested air/fuel meters are off by a mile and/or are slow and/or are useless for logging data. When i read the test there is only one wideband i am willing to buy, the innovate one!

Read the Moto IQ article here.
